At international checkpoint, online system helps vehicles cross over seamlessly

Outside the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Petrapole, along the international border between India and Bangladesh, Jessore Road or National Highway-112, is largely free of traffic.
Inside the terminal, vehicles seamlessly move into Benapole, the Bangladesh side of the checkpoint.

One of the busiest land ports in the country: ~350-450 trucks carrying export goods from various parts of the country pass through Bongaon town and cross the international border through the checkpoint.
Imports: ~150-200 trucks laden with imported goods enter India daily from Bangladesh.
Online vehicle facilitation system: Due to this, the movement of export vehicles has become smooth as it is a very transparent system which benefits the exporters.
West Bengal’s ‘Suvidha – Vehicles Facilitation System’ portal: Created in 2021 which has further helped to ease the traffic congestion outside the checkpoint.
