Global database to identify missing persons launched
- Interpol has launched a new global database named ‘I-Familia’that will identify missing persons or unidentified human remains around the world through the DNA of relatives.
- It has three components: a dedicated global database to host the DNA profiles provided by relatives; DNA matching software called Bonaparte and interpretation guidelines developed by Interpol.
The International Police Organisation is commonly known as Interpol.
