Rekha Sharma nominated for another term of 3 Years in NCW
- National Commission for women (NCW) was estd on recommendation of committee on the Status of Women in India (CSWI)
- It consists of a Chairperson, committed to the cause of women to be nominated by the Central Government.
- Apart from chairperson, the commission consists of five Members and a Member-Secretary to be nominated by the Central Government.
National Commission for Women (NCW)
- It is a statutory body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990.
- It’s function include:
- Review the Constitutional and Legal safeguards for women.
- Recommend remedial legislative measures.
- Facilitate redressal of grievances and
- Advise the Government on all policy matters affecting women.
