Shah unveils 'White Revolution 2.0', promises 'full budgetary support'

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched ‘White Revolution 2.0’, along with an action plan on the formation and strengthening of two lakh new Multipurpose Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies

On Thursday, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the ‘White Revolution 2.0’, aimed at revolutionizing India’s dairy sector, along with key initiatives for strengthening the cooperative ecosystem.

White Revolution 2.0: The programme aims to enhance milk production, strengthen dairy infrastructure, boost dairy exports, and empower women farmers.
Formation of Cooperatives: An action plan was also introduced for the creation of two lakh new Multipurpose Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies, along with dairy and fishery cooperatives.
SOP on ‘Cooperation Among Cooperatives’: A standard operating procedure was launched to streamline cooperation between different cooperative entities.

The initiative focuses on four primary goals:
Empowering Women Farmers: Increasing self-reliance and empowerment of women in the dairy sector.
Local Milk Production: Boosting domestic milk production.
Strengthening Dairy Infrastructure: Enhancing infrastructure to support dairy operations across India.
Boosting Dairy Exports: Expanding the international presence of Indian dairy products.

Addressing a national conference on the achievements of the Ministry of Cooperation, Shah highlighted that the Ministry has taken 10 major initiatives in the first 100 days of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term. Three of these, including White Revolution 2.0, were launched during the event.

Shah reassured that the programme would receive full budgetary support, emphasizing that the initiative is a top priority for the government and will help make the cooperative sector more self-reliant and expansive.
