Union Minister inaugurates 5 NIELIT Centres in NE
- National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) helps to build human resource capacity in IT sector.
- The inauguration included 3 new NIELIT Centres Kokrajhar and Tezpur (Assam); and upgraded two existing Centres -- Imphal (Manipur) and Aizawl (Mizoram) from Churachandpur.
- Union Minister on occasion said that over 5 lakh new jobs have been created in IT alone this year in India.
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT)
- It is an autonomous scientific society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
- NIELIT is actively engaged in Capacity Building and Skill Development in the areas of Information Technology (IT); Electronics; Communication Technologies; Hardware; Cyber Law etc.
- It offers courses both in Formal as well as Non-Formal Sectors and is also one of the National Examination Bodies.
- NIELIT accredits institutes/ organizations for the conduct of courses in the Non-Formal Sector.
- NIELIT is also rolling out IT Literacy Programmes for many State Governments for its employees and the masses.
- NIELIT is entrusted by many organizations to conducts their recruitment examinations.
Presence of NIELIT
- The presence of NIELIT is largely visible to all major Indian cities and states. They own around 35 office located from Guwahati,imphal to Patna and many cities.
- Apart from these offices, their network is throughout India with presence of about 800 institutes in the country.
- The Headquarter of NIELIT is situated at New Delhi.
